“A mother’s affection cannot be weaned from her child, because the mother-love includes purity and constancy, both of which are immortal. Therefore maternal

affection lives on under whatever difficulties.”

May I also recommend the book Understanding the Borderline Mother by Christine Ann Lawson. Certainly not all, but some CS mothers have Borderline Personality Disorder characteristics. This book has helped me a lot.

I also have trouble around Mother’s Day, since I felt betrayed when my mother suddenly decided to move us to Principia, and she continues to deny/rationalize any harm or troubles that happened to me or others there. Before that we had a good relationship. Last Mother’s Day I called to wish her a happy day and ended up getting in a huge fight over this stuff… avoided that this year, luckily.
